The terrible 2's- Its August!

The terrible twos they call it. The time when your tiny being becomes insane.
They start tantrums, arguments and fights.
They want something and then don't.
They want to throw, kick and destroy all your favourite items.
Socks go missing and get found buried in Spain, 15 years later.
The neighbour's dog suddenly loses a leg.
Uncle Gerald goes missing.
The once-beloved dolly suddenly goes punk, with a shaved head, tattoos of Paw Patrol drawn on her back and arm hair stuck on with playdoh(The same colour

as the hair from the missing dog leg).
This is what your loving, cute, and 'playful', child becomes once they pass the 730 day or 2nd birthday mark. This is where we are now.

Apart from the fact that the worst thing Hannah does a fake cry to try and get something and then give up after a couple of minutes and then get out her lego. She does get up early sometimes but happily sits in her bed with the little push light that she turned on and tries to read books till we come and get her. She is pretty amazing. One thing she is really good at is imitating sirens, which can be annoying, but also funny.

She is most definitely a Winnipeg baby - Because, its construction season and she loves nothing more than a walk after dinner and before bed, to go to the road construction at the end of our street and spend time sitting, watching the diggers! She loves diggers!!!

She also loves to climb up the Church steps and when she reaches the top she does a little Rocky dance and puts her arms i teh air, just like Rocky Balboa!! Amazing...

Anyway - its been such a long time since I posted I really feel like I should fill you in - So here is a quick summary and a few photos....
Hanny had a birthday - we were visited at the lake by most of the family, Hanny was given a snowman in July  - yep  - which she loved. She also drowned dolly in the little paddling pool before getting angry on the dock and started throwing chairs around like the hulk - don't believe me?

Doll murderer!! She points to tell me - I am next!

Hulk lives!!!!!

We also took the drone across to the lake and made a video of the cabin from the air. It wasnt the besy flying I have ever done, but we will bring it back sometime and try again....

Back at home, there have been a number of changes - The spare bed has been put out in the basement for when Buff drops the sprog as she wants to spend the first few days down there with the new arrival until they get into a routine. Buffy and her mum also took out the old table, which needed a lot of work to make it look nice again and did all that work! It now looks really classy and doesn't hide all of Hannah dropped crumbs in the cracks in the wood. It also reminded me of why I married this woman. At 7 months pregnant, face mask on, sanding a table in the garage in over 30 degrees. Classy/

After 6 weeks of having a big hole in the garden, we also finally got the new stone patio competed. It was done in just over a day and we are really happy with it. We celebrated by inviting round some friends and having a few drinks and pizza around our smoky fire. A good night...

Buffy, Hannah and Mylesf have had a really busy month. Getting the house ready for the new arrival in just a few weeks time. The patio, the table, sorting out newbor stuff from the huge pile of baby things in the basement. Appointments, work and getting out - Its been a hectic few weeks. This has all happened alongside the re-opening of the pubs, bars, restaurants and cinemas, so we have been juggling home and Hannah with getting out to have dinner, see movies and enjoy the summer sunshine.

We visited a few places to east in Winnipeg and last week even took a trip out to Lockpoprt to visit the famous old Half Moon diner, where we spent a really nice hour sitting outside in eth sunshine by the river eating traditional 1950's style burgers. Unlike normal people, we didnt take photos of our food (Who doe sthat really nowadays?) so here is what thediner and the burgers looks like.....

We have also been enjoying the super hot summer weather - Swimming in the lake, visits to the parks and Hannah now loves the splashpad - She likes going into the deep water - up to her waist and sitting down in the water, just watching the world and other kids go by...

She has also enjoyed so many visits to the park!!

One of the best things to happen this past month was a huge huge storm we had overnight at the cabin.
The thunder and lightning were constant for over 45 minutes, with a flash of lightning every 2- 3 seconds. It was crazy. I went down to the boat dock at 2am and watched it wearing just a raincoat, underwear and sandals. It was actually a bit scary when some of the lightning flashed a bit close, but amazing to watch. The video does not do it justice.

Here's a link to the video I posted live on Facebook....

So, that's just about it for now. I promise every time I post that I will post more often and soon. I will promise that again right now. and I will promise to stick to eth promise I make. However, who knows what's going to happen?
