December tomorrow and its like the Balmy Bahamas -

Its November 29th and weirdly even though we have had a couple of dumps of snow the weather is actually really nice, This week we are around -3 and on Wednesday its supposed to be +3! That's crazy - Being used to living in a freezer for 4-5 months of the year a 3-degree day is just bloody lovely - actually a minus 6 or minus 7 day is bloody lovely, so this could honestly be described as an Indian summer!

Hannah, in particular, has been enjoying the weather - we have built a little slide in the back yard and have been sliding down in the sled a lot (the sled has had other adventures which I will explain later...)

Oliver isn't so sure about the snow just yet and tends to sit on his arse and cry until he is picked up - although he does like watching the snow being cleared through the window from a nice warm house!

Haahaa Poor thing!

She also likes to clear the snow - Bonus!

We have had a lot of other bits of fun in the last few weeks too - Hannah has been swimming with Grandma on a Thursday and we got the chance to take her and Oliver for his first pool swam a couple of weekends back - He isn't enjoying baths at the moment - But he loved being in the pool, till he got a little cold. Hannah just goes crazy (like she does everywhere) and ended up with 7 of the pool watering cans in her possession as she played in the warm-ish water. It was actually a cold day outside when we went too, so it was a wonderful way to get out of the cold for an hour!

We also found a little German Market to go visit. Now, anyone from Manchester (or Germany obviously) will know all about German markets - Lots of beers, sausages hot food, and German wooden trinkets to buy. Well, the German market we found had the Wooden Trinkets, but no beer and no read hot food. Just a load of non-German style market stalls. The best thing about eth market was the local Model Railway Club who had set up a cool track with a few trains running around it. I spent a while watching this and chatting to the train geeks before we came home a little disappointed not to have had Bratwurst and beers  - but at least we got out of the house again!

One of the traditional family things we do in November is to celebrate Jon and Susans birthdays.
Usually, we like to go out and actually do something  - an escape room or board game cafe or whatever - But cos of the obvious we decided to get in a takeaway meal this year and have a knockout Jenga tournament! Now, this does sound a bit sad, but it gave everyone the chance to join in a bit of competition and also to watch and enjoy a drink. The best thing about this was that Hannah could actually join in and not just pretend. Not surprisingly for her, she was really good at it and gave Jon a real good game. She was very good at being careful while pulling the blocks out and putting them back on top of the tower. Erika won the tournament after defeating Susan in the final but I think everyone would agree that Hannah was the star player!

Hannah and Oliver are still growing - It's amazing since I stopped feeding them both months ago!
They are growing closer too - Hannah is very good at sharing her things and food with Oliver and doesn't lose her rag too often - Oliver too actually walked to Hannah yesterday and threw his arms around her for a big hug! It was so sweet! They often play together for a few minutes and Hannah was even trying to teach Oliver the Alphabet in her bedroom last week!!!

On the subject of playing together - Oliver in particular has been getting closer to his Cousin Austin - they see each other at Grandmas sometimes and they are definitely going to be good mates when they grow up. We also got to meet Scotland too - Scotland is Cousin Randy and Krys's 7 monthl daughter and she is super cute and mellow. Krys brought her round to visit and again, Oliver really enjoyed seeing her as did all of us!

What else happened this month - let me think....

Me and Hannah built a huge lego tower

We got some stickers for the new car - A bee for Manchester and a Mosquito for Winnipeg...

Buffy got her self a fancy new haircut.

Buffy and her choir had their first concert in almost 2 years and Hannah was now old enough to go - She spent some of it watching the singing whilst hugging mum from behind before it was Buffy's turn to sing.

Finally, its that time of year again, when instead of resting and having lunch I put on my gloves, grab a bread knife, some food colouring and a whole pile of plastic bowls to create a nonsensical piece of garbage out of ice - The neighbours seem to like it and probably wouldn't let me get away without building something now - so this year's effort is a nod to the Monoliths that appeared around the world at the start of the year. I just thought it would be cool - and easier than building another robot!

It's not finished yet - the two smaller 'Monoliths' will be as big as or bigger than the centre one by the time I have finished!
It's all a bit of fun eh!

Anyhoo - time to get my arse into gear and grab a cold one from the fridge its a little warm and I need to cool down- It's  December 1st tomorrow and a toasty +4degrees! It's like being on the surface of the sun, its soooo hot!

One last story before I go though.......

Buffy took the kids to family place last week..... On the way out they were in eth elevator (Hanna loves Elevators) and were carrying the sled. The sled rope got caught in the elevator doors and the sled was pulled up to the roof of the elevator and to get it free a bloke came along with a knife to cut the rope!

Luckily Hannah was having a great day and walked all the way home carrying dolly, whilst complaining about her arm hurting with the weight  - while Buffy carried Oliver and the sled! Luckily no one was hurt and Hannahs spare jump rope came in really handy as a new sled rope!

The mortal of the story is  - is you have a sled  - slide down  - dont take it in the elevator!
