September - Its been a long couple of weeks.....

Hello everyone. This is going to be a quick update as I haven't had much time to make any real notes the last few weeks. It's been a long couple of weeks.

I had been running and training for my annual BFT which I normally do on my birthday - The BFT if you remember, is a mile-and-a-half-timed run that we used to do in the army.  Under 10 mins 30 secs is a pass for soldiers under 30 years of age and so far, up until this year, I have never failed to achieve this mark.

It was Tuesday 6th Sep when I took a test run and got a time of 10mins 42 - Not bad at all!

But when I woke up for a run two days later I had a pain in my chest (No drama here, it wasn't a heart attack - it wasn't that exciting!) Anyway, the pain persisted and I was short of breath for a couple of days and so went to the Doctor on Friday afternoon.  After blood and urine tests they found nothing wrong and sent me away to come back if things didn't get better.

Things didn't get better.

Over the next 12 days, it got better for 6 hours then worse again. Nausea like you feel before getting ill was almost constant, with just a day on the Satur when things felt great - to confuse me - before getting very much worse the next day. Headaches, backaches, elbows, wrists knees and ankle aches were getting worse and I also had constipation  - which wasn't pleasant!

Eventually, after working from my bed for a Thursday and Friday and then taking a day off sick - far too late, I arranged another doctor's visit when I was at my lowest ebb and this time they did a chest X-ray.

The Doctor almost danced into the room I was waiting in and sang far too happily,  'You have Peneumonia', before happily showing me the spots in my chest X-ray giving away the diagnosis.

I must admit I was a bit relieved as I dint know what was wrong with me and Pneumonia is relatively easy to fix with a bit of rest and Antibiotics.

I have been on the Tablets now for 6 days and have 4 more full days to go. I am feeling a whole lot better, but am still worn out and have the shittiest cough. I am still working from home and will do so until eth cough clears up.

Anyway, that's my part of the story of the last few weeks.

It did get weird on Sunday when Buffy woke up puking and was ill for all of Sunday and leading into Monday - we were like zombies trying to keep the kids amused and I am sure they enjoyed eating popcorn and watching Frozen 3 for the 10th time. Amazingly we ALL managed a 2 1/2 hour middle of the day nap - ALL 4 OF US! These things just don't happen, so that was some kind of miracle!

The biggest other big news we have to talk about is Hannah - she has started Nursery, which is amazing! She is loving going to school every morning and has made some good friends there. She is excited to go every day and seems to really love it. This is her first-day pic...

Is that not the best first-day pic ever? Yes, it is!

In other news - Ollie is crazy, loves chocolate biscuits and sleeps on Window sills. Hannah liked the spotty make-up that she did for school and is a cheeky little scamp, but can also now use the toilet without help!

We had one final weekend at the cabin, where even though I felt unwell, we celebrated my birthday with a big cake and actually got to spend a short while on the dock, now it is finally out of the water!

I am off to bed now, it's gone 10pm and that is late for me at the moment. Hopefully, in the next post, there will be no more Pneumonia and lots more fun shit from the Kiddywinkles!

See you soon!
