New What years eve? Equilibrium.

Is it New years eve 2019 or New years Eve 2020. I submit to you that it is actually New Years Eve 2020. Even though the current year is 2019.

Lets say you were married one year ago tomorrow. Its your first anniversary tomorrow and you intend to celebrate with cheap champagne, a cheap hotel and drunk sex. (With each other....probably). No worries. Happy anniversary. But today is therefore your first anniversary eve. Even though the number 1 in the count of years is not correct until midnight passes. Using that (probably flawed) logic, I conclude that today is indeed NEW YEARS EVE 2020!

Anyway, hope you had a good one. Here's a quick update of the last couple of weeks.
Christmas - great one - family get together - presents - drone onesie. books, earrings, red rocket for Hannah and doll and teddy plus lots of food and drinks.
Good. As expected.

Weather - cold, snowy, winter in Canada.
Good. As expected.

New Years Eve (2020) Food, visit to the forks to look at Holiday lights.
Good. As expected.

Here follows a selection of pictogram's created by a 17th century time traveller on his chalkboard, but then uploaded to the Uniweb (Universal Web) in the year 2372, and reverse engineered to fit today's pathetic sized limits of picture and video....

KEEP WAITING FOR THE NEW YEARS EVE VIDEO - ITS AMAZING!

Anyway, I got a drone from Secret Santa and have been practising - with limited success. But am getting better  - here's the latest video (including when I nearly crash landed on the roof and the finale - hitting a window)

So New Years Eve is all about looking forward - to the future, new beginnings and promises made. But honestly, mostly nothing changes. For a few days you write the wrong date on whatever paperwork you are filling in and then normal life hits you softly, straight in the everywhere, without causing any offence or discomfort . Life goes on. I believe that's how it should be. Its great to celebrate the turning over of a new leaf, but that new leaf will generally be the same leaf you turned over last year.
Today, in fact less that 20 minutes ago,, using Hannah's balloons, from the photo above, I discovered equilibrium, which kind of melds generously with my beliefs of a new year and a new leaf.
Nothing good happened.
Nothing bad happened.
But with a lot of effort, patience, testing and time, I just about managed to make something that did nothing outrageous, but just was.
That's it. For a few seconds it 'just was'.

One helium balloon, with a second, almost deflated, helium balloon below it, connected to each other with ribbon.
The weight of the bottom balloon, combined with the ribbon and a small piece of sellotape, balanced almost perfectly in mid air.
Not rising.
Not falling.
Just being - there.
Think a little about this.
Then think again.
I believe it means a lot more than I just explained. I hope it doesn't keep you awake. In fact watching the entire 4 minute video may well send you to sleep. But this was the defining moment of 2019 and it happened at 1020 on New Years Eve 2020.
Enjoy and Happy New Year.
