Nazis in Winnipeg, monorails, REME and snow...

Snow.
We got the snow... a lot of it. It fell, landed and stuck. It was weird though, because instead of the usual soft light dry snow we normally get over here it was the wet, heavy slushy snow I am used to getting back home in UK. Although, there was a fuck load more of it that I have ever seen back in Manchester. They call it heart attack snow over here, as its so heavy, you get a heart attack whilst clearing it. I am still alive, but my back has been knackered for the week.... anyway, here are a few photos of the stuff....

I was doing an install on Monday, the weight of the snow caused the top of this telegraph pole to snap.  It started a small fire at the top and the power went for a while.

Happily, we were in a dentists and the local 'country' radio cash cow visited to present a radio prize. She/he/it had ts teeth cleaned....

Enough about the snow... I am hoping that it goes very soon and the weather warms up enough that I don't have to heat the garage door lock to unfreeze it every morning as I do at the moment...

Whilst vegging out inside away from the arse end of winter, I found a great website...The British Pathe news archive. There are some great little clips on there and some even better longer films... so I searched for some relevant ones for friends and family and found some stonkers.
